OECD WEBINAR
Do schools and imagination go together? Creativity and innovation aren’t just nice words or highly demanded skills in the labour market, evidence suggests they are also key to well-being and to thriving economies . But are young people leaving education with the skills to apply knowledge and make novel connections, envision new solutions, and contribute meaningfully to their communities?
Join us on 21 April as we celebrate World Creativity and Innovation Day and discuss what is needed for schools to become places of imagination, inquiry, creation and reflection – and how creativity and innovation can support learning.
We will hear from the author of Lifelong Kindergarten, Mitchel Resnick, discuss with Szilvia Németh how teachers in Hungary implemented the OECD project Fostering and Assessing Creativity and Critical Thinking and learn how children in India develop innovation skills through participating in “tinkering labs”
Speakers include:
– Mitchel Resnick, LEGO Papert Professor of Learning Research at the MIT Media Lab, United States.
– Szilvia Németh, Managing Director, T-Tudok Centre for Knowledge Management and Educational Research, Hungary.
– Deepali Upadhyay, Programme Director , Atal Innovation Mission, Niti Aayog, India
